Preparations are underway for a little soiree to celebrate our dear Juniper turning one! I can't believe the day is almost here — it's true what they say that the first year goes by before you know it. I'm not doing a real theme for her birthday party, but I am keeping to a basic color palette of pinks and yellows, with some blues, greens, and sparkle mixed in. And lots of plaid and gingham. My to-do list is a mile long, but I plan to put my perfectionist side away come Saturday morning if everything isn't done and just enjoy the time with family and friends. I'm also a little nervous I might tear up during the party — I just feel so lucky to be that girl's mama. Juniper really fills our home with love and pure sunshine with her sweet spirit.
+ I bought her custom Polaroid invitations through this fantastic Etsy shop Ello There. I couldn't be more happy with how they turned out! And I added my handmade touch by stamping butterflies on the envelopes and writing out the addresses in neon pink.
+ Ikea had this amazing plaid tablecloth that I fell in love with (also picked up the matching tray). The other fabric shown is a vintage pattern I've had for a while and wanted to use. I was thinking of covering our huge flatscreen in fabric for the party to create a a photo backdrop (and hide the big black TV in the room.)
+ I bought tassel garlands from this Etsy shop, which I'm going to hang up in her nursery after the party. They're just too pretty to store away in a closet.
Still stuck on party favors for the kiddos (we have kids coming ages 3 months to 3 years.) Any ideas? I don't have much time to make anything, but I'm having trouble even finding something small to give out.
