There was so much to love at the Stationery Show — I could easily blog for a month on all the pretty cards, calendars, rubber stamps, and garlands. But I'll share just a few today and tomorrow, and then I'll be posting more as the new collections become available to buy online.
The Aesthetic Movement booth was one of my favorites. I thought it was so clever that they used chalkboard paint for their booth walls, too. Austin Press debuted a gorgeous collection of illustrated letterpress flashcards. The pictorial choices for each letter felt very unusual and historical — I love a twist on alphabet flashcards. (I have to admit — I couldn't even figure out every illustration right away, so it was fun to guess the pairings.) The illustrations, with their vintage vibe, would create a beautiful display on a wall.
I own a bunch of Yellow Owl Workshop rubber stamps— and there were more stamps galore at their booth that caught my eye. I also fell for their cards. I want that cute ice cream cone card above my desk for the summer, since I plan daily ice cream runs with Dan once it's warm (seriously!).
Velvet Raptor was a new addition to Aesthetic Movement. While the albums are pricey, they're so unique. Each velvet album is handmade and comes with a pretty storage box. The colors in the collection are so perfect. What a unique album to splurge on if you're doing your own wedding album or pulling together photos for a special event.
And one of my early spottings at the show was the line of foil-stamped wood cards at the Twig and Fig booth. This bike card was my favorite. The entire line is so eye-catching with a mix of woods and gold and silver foils.
The pretty storage boxes that Smock unveiled at the show — obsessed! These are just a few of the fantastic patterns. And, in true Smock form, the boxes are made in the most eco-conscious way (no China imports here.) Amazingly, they were able to create this collection at a pricepoint that's still affordable, especially in comparison to other decorative storage boxes out there. I can't wait till they're available — I want to pick up a few to organize my home office.
