I'm so smitten with these Semikolon binders that I spotted on See Jane Work. I love how the label window has a brass frame, which feels so fancy. The rainbow of color options reminds me of the stack of J.Crew cashmere sweaters you find with color names like sweet guava. I remember looking forward to the annual trip with my mom to buy school supplies (my love of notebooks started early.) The selection for binders back then was pretty slim. Is the term trapper keeper still around? What a weird name that was for a binder.
I still use binders, even though I'm not a student. I store my CDs and DVDs in three large binders using plastic sleeves (a few binders is way more space-saving than keeping those jewel cases around.) I used a binder to organize myself for each photo shoot I produced — my callsheet in front with photos of all the props punched and placed in the binder. Part of me wants to transfer all of the bills + statements that I need to keep around into a binder, rather than stuffing the paper into an accordion file like I do now. Binders make me happy.
