I'll be driving a UHaul back to Brooklyn — the perfect mode of transport after a couple weeks of hunting around antique shops in Maine. On Monday, I found a dresser! It needs a total makeover but it's the perfect size for our place — and I love that it's on little wheels so I can move it around easily. I'll definitely share the before + after with you once I complete that project.
I've been struggling to find a desk and some solution for where to put Dan's massive flatscreen. I'm not surprised that I'm striking out on the perfect flatscreen stand in antique shops, but I thought I'd stumble on a cute desk by now. Then I remembered that having a UHaul for a few days brings some freedom — easy furniture pickup. So I've been checking out Craigslist to see what's for sale. Sometimes I forget how you can definitely find gems on Craigslist. Here are some desks I spotted on Craigslist.
The antique desk above comes from a mailroom — check out all those slots! Sure wish I had $750 to buy the dream desk for a paper lover like me.
Love the simplicity of this metal desk.
This desk just needs a little love and it would be fantastic.
A mid-century modern beauty.
This secretary wouldn't work in our space, but I love all those little compartments.
And a desk chair to go with the right desk — asking price for this Eames style chair is $50! Hooray for the wonder of Craigslist.
