The other week, Dan and I played the lotto. We lost (big shocker), but it got my mind wrapped around the idea of what would be on my wishlist if I weren't on a spending hiatus, as I'm sure many of you are on, too. So here goes, in honor of my birthday, I've compiled a list of fun stuff that's caught my eye. And I just realized that many of my finds are even under $100, but I guess that goes to show that what's special does not need to break the bank. Here's this birthday girl's fantasy wishlist:
These handmade stackable rings are so pretty in mixed metals (and they're a great deal, too.)
I heart these number jars in a big way. I love little accents that dress up your desk — because the space where you work should look anything but boring.
I love this compass necklace made by Danni. And I am actually awful with directions, so this navigation compass necklace suits me well.
I've wanted a vintage turquoise typewriter for some time, and I have all these ideas spinning in my head of how I'd used it to make my own cards + invites. And clearly it would look so fun on a desk. Three Potato Four often sells vintage typewriters (looks like they're out of stock now.)
I hope to wear a Sarah Seven dress, like this one, someday. Her dresses are gorgeous!
I can't wait to get my hands on Pia's book, Paris Made By Hand! I'm going to treat myself once we're moved into our new place.
I love felted bowls, and these tie in well with my current yellow kick.
This set of garden stamps by Lisa Rupp would be so fun to add to my stamp collection!
I'd love to find a kilim rug for our new place. This one caught my eye.
Pretty much anything by John Derian would make me happy. I have my eyes on his whale decoupage tray.
Almost as good as winning the lotto, winning one of these MADSEN Cargo Bikes. I dream of biking my groceries home from the market with that bike and its blue bucket. The Madsen is quite possibly the cutest bike ever.
I'd love to serve water, wine, or iced tea in one of these carafes.
Camping (which I love to do) is the inspiration behind this fantastic letterpress print by Old School Stationers.
This Swedish backpack is high on my wishlist. I need a better bag for toting my camera plus essentials (wallet, phone, cardigan) when I'm running around the city. This is the perfect size and I love how you can tote it or wear it as a backpack. My friend Sue-Anne has one and she loves hers. And I just think it's super.
And I already was surprised with a super sweet gift yesterday (that was high on my apartment wishlist!). Thank you, Suzanne!! You are too kind. And I'll be sure to share a photo of it in our new place!
I'm off to enjoy the sunshine (it's supposed to be 80 degrees here today!). I'm looking forward to lunch with a friend, a birthday milkshake, an afternoon yoga class, and an evening with Dan!!
{birthday banner, top photograph, is actually made from recycled letterpress misprints. I love the idea of reusing scraps to make a special banner.}
