I am positively giddy, relieved, and excited beyond belief to say we're signing the lease to an apartment tomorrow!!! I'm here doing my own version of the happy dance in anticipation. Our current abode has many problems, and it got to the point where the apartment was making us less than happy. That's when you know it's time to go. We're actually moving into a restored seltzer factory in Brooklyn. How fun is that? Going from 9 foot ceilings to 16 foot ceilings in a new loft space with (drumroll, please) my requested dishwasher. I've never had a dishwasher in any apartment, and I can't wait to experience the thrill of pressing a magical button to give me more time in my evenings. I will be doing some moving posts as packing is upon us now. And I will have a slew of decorating posts this summer as I wrap my head around decorating our new space on a budget. Hope you'll keep stopping by to see it all happen! The first project will be building our closet.
Why this photo with this post? This is a peek inside Victoria's apartment, who is the creator of the amazing blog, sfgirlbybay, and her apartment is featured in the current issue of DIY magazine. When we were checking out the "model" apartment in our new building, I saw the iconic Keep Calm and Carry On print there as a prop. Victoria sells those prints in her Etsy shop. I took it as a good sign (no pun intended), and as luck would have it, everything worked out (can't attest to being calm through the whole process though!). I may just have to pick up one of Victoria's silkscreened prints for our new place (question is, which color?)
Off to find some moving boxes!
