We're moving in just a few weeks now. I got super motivated and packed a half dozen boxes last night. I have just about as much of a clue of where we'll be moving in Brooklyn as I know what will happen to my favorites on Lost (wasn't that an amazing show last night?). But I'm still giving myself permission to daydream on the special little touches that will make the space uniquely ours. And some things I want to do differently. I'm set on having a dishwasher in our next place, so we're looking at a lot of newer, more modern apartments than our current second floor abode in a brownstone. My style does not skew largely modern by any stretch, so I'm going to temper the mod with some vintage, handmade accents. On the wishlist: these wood hooks by Live Wire Farm. I love them! We actually saw hooks just like these in a shop in Bar Harbor, Maine, that sold everything made of wood. Wish I had picked up a few. I especially love the way Live Wire Farm shows how you can use their branch-style hooks. My favorite might be the most utilitarian: a wood hook for toilet paper (since I'm always the one switching out a new roll!).
