{green swap photograph by charlotte jenks lewis} Friday's q+a: abby of organic gardening (*giveaway reminder — check it out for an organic gardening giveaway!) what's green swap? find out more here
Wisconsin-based Amy Stigler is the designer + creative director behind Smock paper, a unique stationery line that uses bamboo paper. Smock is definitely the eco-savvy frontrunner in turning bamboo into pretty paper. [Next week, I'm doing an entire post devoted to green stationery!] I think it's definitely easier to go greener when you're surrounded by people trying to be more eco-minded, which is the case with Smock. Amy's adopted more greeny ways since becoming a part of the Smock team. Here's Amy!
1. three simple ways
you've gone greener in your life
+ using non-toxic cleaning supplies (lots of vinegar & castile
soap)
+ buying vintage (clothes, furniture, dishes/glassware, books .......)
2. last green purchase
Dr. Bronner's Lavender Soap
3. one green initiative you'd like to see enacted in your community
more bike paths

4. best green gift you've given, received, or coveted
(besides Smock stationery ;) seasonal flowers from my yard or the farmer's
market arranged in a vintage vase
5. hardest habit to break to be more eco-friendly
driving ... with three kids and living where we do, its hard to avoid a good
amount of driving
6. three ways you want to
be greener this year
+ we plan to plant a vegetable and herb garden with the kids
+ getting kids involved in the recycling (and composting)
+ less consuming/buying overall
A big thanks to Amy for being a part of Green Swap! I'll be sharing more ideas from Smock (and 9SpotMonk) in a post next week all about the greener side of paper.
