I'm a condiment girl, and I don't discriminate (except for mayo which I don't like in its pure form.) When I was a kid, I smothered baked potatoes with a combo of ketchup + sour cream — the only way my poor mom could coax me to eat a baked potato. To this day, I hate baked potatoes (yes, hate is the right word), but I have expanded my taste in condiments. Check out five favorites:
{1} wasabi mayonnaise by Trader Joe's: delicious on salmon burgers! You can make your own wasabi mayo, but that requires buying wasabi paste + mayo. I say buy one jar and be done — and I can't tell the difference in taste anyhow.
{2} Spoon strawberry jam: This is the BEST jam. My favorite is their blueberry jam, but right now we're working through a jar of Spoon's strawberry jam. Spoon is a catering company here in New York that just started selling jams and treats last year, and you can buy Spoon jams online. These jams make a super gift too — Spoon packages their jams in mason jars with adorable labels.

{3} apple butter: I pick up Red Jacket Orchards apple butter from my farmer's market, and I love to put a dollop in oatmeal.
{4} ketchup: Yes, that's plain old Heinz above. I put ketchup on many many things, including grilled cheese, which grosses out Dan. What I wish was in my refrigerator: Jamie's ketchup.
{5} spicy, grainy mustard: Right now I'm loving Zatarains Creole mustard (it has a good kick), but my heart still belongs to Pommery Moutarde de Meaux when it comes to a yummy, grainy mustard for sandwiches.
p.s. I'm posting a giveaway up next — check back later this afternoon for details!
