I thought it was a fun idea when I saw a few bloggers posting their list of 25 random details — that tagged-you're-it game circulating on Facebook. I think everyone I would tag has already done it anyway, (since I've been resisting writing my list forever), so I'm posting mine here. Pardon the interruption of posts on home + entertaining ideas. Here's 25 random things about moi.
1. I love wearing necklaces — they're my main form of jewelry. I rarely wear earrings so my holes have closed up (for a second time.) Oops. This is the next necklace I want (and it's only $10.)
Necklace with hand stamped pendant on ribbon by Auburn & Ivory. Be sure to check out her blog — one of my favorites.
2. I hate onions. Cooked. Raw. Touching lettuce. Poor Dan hasn't eaten a home-cooked meal with onions in years.

3. I walked down the aisle (it was actually a 200-yard grassy path) for my wedding to the song Peggy-O by the Grateful Dead. Dan had no idea — our friend Dave played it on guitar as a surprise. It's a special song for us, and it was fun to see Dan's face when he recognized the song.
4. I'm afraid of heights. Immensely. I think it stems from my dad taking us to the top of the Eiffel Tower when I was three. Open staircases, nosebleed seats in Madison Square Garden, and glass bridges in malls are my nightmare.

5. I never do the software updates on my Macbook. So maybe it's not random to say my laptop likes to churn every once in a while.
6. We put up special shelves in our apartment just for my collection of stationery. I have my cards categorized in drawers by images: hearts for love cards, martini glasses for party invites. And you wonder why I post a lot about stationery.
7. I have two older brothers. Our names in order of birth: Omid, then Steve and Jen. Go figure.
8. I've been doing yoga for years and I still haven't made any progress on the standing big toe pose (utthita hasta padangusthasana.)
9. I think blogger Josh Marshall is super.
10. A couple times a week I spend $4 on a drink with floating live cultures, otherwise known as kombucha. It's an acquired taste, but this drink seriously sets my stomach right — and helps me feel hydrated.
11. The top button of my overcoat popped off last week and I have no desire to spend time sewing it back on. I may just wait till next winter now that it's officially spring.

12. I'm smitten with the music of Ray LaMontagne (who played on SNL last night.) And it's pretty fun that he lived in Dan's hometown in Maine.
13. I graduated with 55 girls from a Catholic high school. And I'm not Catholic.
14. I like sour cherry pie more than apple, pumpkin, and all the regular ones.
15. I just learned last week that our farmer's market milk is not homogenized, and what homogenized means.
16. I've sat across from Keri Russell in a booth at a bar and met Will Farrell while he was wearing green track pants. My friend Josh is one cool, connected guy.
17. I'm a little upset that Conan is in L.A. now. I think he belongs here in New York, and I've been Letterman over Leno since the beginning.
18. I'm rather gullible.
19. I create more dishes than necessary for cooking any meal.
20. Dan calls me "the sheriff" when he sees me wearing my sunglasses, which are actually prescription sunglasses (my first ones.)
{sunglasses are Paul Smith for Oliver Peoples}
21. I think the Garbage Pail Kids were the best. I'm just saying.
22. My first job out of school was at a small magazine about online investing, based in Chicago. Five months after I started working, the magazine closed shop one random Friday (after the dot-com bubble burst.) The night before the magazine folded, my boyfriend and I broke up. We're now married.
23. I still have a green Hawaii T-shirt from Urban Outfitters (circa sophomore year of college) and wear it on occasion.
24. My drink of choice is sangria, which makes choosing a drink at most places quite difficult.
25. I went by Jenny through the third grade, and apparently it stuck with some family members who still call me Jenny. I don't feel like a Jenny, but I think it's sweet when my Nanny calls me by that name. I'm a Jen. Jennifer works, too.
p.s. If you've made it this far, you deserve a gold star. Oh, and one more thing, I am continually amazed by the photography of Andrea of Hula Seventy. And if you like lists, you should check out her blog as she is a master of entertaining lists. See this fantastic photo below by Andrea. (And I did get what I wanted for Valentine's Day — a gorgeous print from Hula Seventy's Etsy shop. Thanks, D!)
