This is the view as I head down to the subway these days. Fantastic, right! For a few weeks, MoMA is taking over my Brooklyn subway stop and turning it into the MoMA Atlantic/Pacific, — replacing the regular ad signage with a 24/7 gallery of reproduction works by Pablo Picasso, Vincent Van Gogh, Edward Hopper, Georgia O’Keefe, Charles Eames, Andy Warhol, and other modern greats. It's so fun to see art in an unexpected context like the subway — a much different feeling to look up and see art as you're rushing for the Q train than pausing in front of a painting at a museum. I wish we could have underground art all the time. Liz from Linda & Harriett actually took a whole bunch of great shots of the subway art and wrote up a nice post on this MoMA campaign. So I'll direct you to Linda & Harriett to check out more.
